Coop restaurant: your local $organic restaurant$

At Coop restaurants, sustainability plays a key role. Each one of our restaurants is organically certified, and we attach great importance to the quality and origin of our products. Our beef, veal and pork comes almost exclusively from Switzerland. Every day, we offer our guests a wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes. We are also committed to fair trade and use Fairtrade Max Havelaar products. To combat plastic waste, we use reCIRCLE reusable tableware and the Coop thermos cup, and promote reducing plastic in disposable tableware. Our fish dishes are certified with the ASC and MSC labels. Our coffee, milk and sugar are also organic bud-label products. And last but not least, we take decisive action to reduce food waste. Through our national partnership with Too Good to Go and by rescuing high-quality food from our retail operations, we are able to achieve great things. It is our ongoing commitment to offer our guests sustainable, high-quality products and services.

Organic coffee

$Enjoy$ organic coffee in the Coop restaurant

Coop is the only retail catering outlet in Switzerland that is dedicated to organic bud-label products for its coffee experience. The milk, coffee cream and sugar in our restaurants all have the organic bud label. Plus, the coffee beans are roasted and packaged in Switzerland.

Organic-certified restaurants

All Coop restaurants are $organically certified$

Coop is committed to organic bud component cuisine, in accordance with Bio Suisse guidelines. You will find organic-grade products in all our restaurants. In the catering sector, only Coop implements the rigorous requirements for bud component cuisine to this extent. Fulfilment of Bio Suisse’s stringent requirements is regularly inspected by the independent audit company bio.inspecta.

$Actions$, not words

Sustainability matters to us in all that we do. That’s why we are committed to people, animals and nature, and to sustainable consumption.

Swiss meat

Meat from $Switzerland$

For dishes that use beef, pork and veal we use almost exclusively Swiss meat. We purchase chicken and turkey meat only from suppliers that are audited by Coop and Bell. For other types of meat we are constantly striving to use more meat from Swiss farms.

Fish from sustainable sources

$Sustainable$ fish range

100% of our fish is purchased in accordance with WWF recommendations. Moreover, the Coop restaurants are the only MSC and ASC-certified national retail catering outlets in Switzerland. The MSC label denotes products from sustainable fisheries. It guarantees that the catches of MSC-certified fisheries can be identified up to the end consumer and are not mixed up with conventional products. The ASC certificate highlights responsible fish farms. Products with the ASC label are assessed according to rigorous environmental criteria and for social aspects.

Too Good To Go

Rescuing food $made simple$

At Coop restaurants and Coop Take it, we offer leftover meals at attractive prices in the “Too Good To Go” app. The meals are available throughout Switzerland. Simply reserve via the app and collect from your chosen location in the evening. If there are no meals left over at a particular location, there will be none shown for it that day in the “Too Good To Go” app.

Cooperation with Coop stores

A second chance for $first-rate$ food

By working closely with retail outlets, we give first-class food a second life, even if it can no longer be sold because of visual defects. Our restaurants have a clever concept for transforming into delicious dishes around 2,200 tonnes a year of fresh fruit and fresh vegetables that would otherwise end up in biogas plants.

Fair-trade products.

For fair minimum prices and $socially equitable$ working conditions

We use products such as coffee, sugar and juices that have been awarded the Fairtrade Max Havelaar quality label. The Fairtrade Max Havelaar label guarantees coffee farmers fair minimum prices, gives them a right to a say and, thanks to a Fairtrade premium, establishes stable socially equitable working conditions. Fairtrade Max Havelaar works closely with Bio Suisse.

Fresh, high-quality ingredients

Your well-being $matters$ to us

We cook balanced and tasty food using fresh herbs, natural spices and high-quality olive and rapeseed oils. When assembling our dishes, we are guided by the recommendations of the Swiss food pyramid, so you are assured of a nutritionally-balanced range at all times of the day.
